About

I’m a retired software engineer. Over the years I’ve written code in a variety of languages — Fortran, Pascal, C, C++, C#, Java — for systems ranging from firmware and BIOS work to financial management software. It was a long career, and I enjoyed it.

These days I keep things interesting by tinkering in my home lab. It started as a general-purpose setup and has gradually migrated into mostly a TrueNAS Scale server running various applications in Docker containers. The kind of tinkering where I learn as much from what doesn’t work as from what does.

This blog is where I write about what I’m working on and what I’m learning. Mostly OpenClaw and local AI, sometimes a tangent into whatever technical rabbit hole catches my attention.
